In just under six months, the flexible upgraded Partner/Supplier Portal was introduced at GEBAG Duisburger Baugesellschaft mbH, which at age 150 is one of Germany’s oldest housing associations. The Duisburg company has charted a clear course for the future, with a focus on flexibility: it is intensifying its tenant dialog, expanding its range of services and providing housing for diverse market segments in the multifaceted city.
The new solution features modern user interfaces and works flawlessly on mobile devices. GEBAG chose it to replace another provider’s ten-year-old product that is no longer being developed. In the scope of the integration, GEBAG also introduced Datatrain’s Customer Center, initially to handle damage reports. The advantage: previously, only a technician with specialized knowledge could register a qualified report; in the new, two-tiered scheme, employees in other departments can record damage reports for subsequent assessment and handling by specialists upon their availability. Since January 1, 2016, over one hundred tradespeople have used the portal to efficiently process their work orders, from acceptance right through to invoicing.
The experience gained in the pilot project has directly benefited a further launch. Three months after the start of the GEBAG collaboration, Datatrain has introduced the new Partner/Supplier Portal at a second forward-thinking company, for the management of an even larger portfolio of residential units by up to 400 users. A functional test system is now running, with the full application soon to go live.
In both projects, the central challenge was the complex coordination with numerous interfaces. This involved the ERP system providers, back- and front-end developers, tradespeople and client contact persons – along with the individual perspectives they all brought to the task. The gratifying outcome is a portal solution that satisfies all parties.
